RECYCLING INITIATIVE

Re-Cyclades is a recycling initiative based on the island of Syros, Greece. The Precious Plastic initiative aims to collect plastic materials from the community, break them down, mold them, and repurpose them into new and improved objects and materials.

What is Precious Plastic? A business model that focuses on teaching others how to collecting and gather plastics to give them a new purpose. Providing resources for free to help people build their own machines, businesses, and encourage growth in The Precious Plastic Community.

The Process

  1. Collect: plastics from families, businesses, or facilities and take them to a Collection Point

  2. Collection Point: Where plastics are gathered, cleaned, and sorted to be sent to a Workshop

  3. Workshop: Break down plastic waste into usable materials to be crafted into something new

Using the Precious Plastic business model, Apano Meria SCE will create their own recycling hub to turn plastic materials into new products. The new recycling lab will be used to give informational demonstrations to schools on the island as well as serve as a new community hub for the Precious Plastics initiative in Syros.
